New LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Announced: Green-Buildings.com Launches 8-Hour Comprehensive Seminar

White Plains, NY (PRWEB) May 11, 2009 -- Green Buildings Online LLC, publisher of Green-Buildings.com, a free online resource for green building education and training, announced its "LEED Green Associate 8-Hour Comprehensive Exam Preparation Seminar" taking place on June 19th, 2009 in Midtown Manhattan. The 8 Hour Comprehensive Seminar is designed to provide an overview of the core green-building concepts and strategies needed to pass the new LEED Green Associate, or LEED G.A., credential exam.

The new LEED G.A. accreditation is expected to be in high demand by professionals in non-technical fields of practice who want a green building credential that denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations and that will allow them to get more involved in the booming green building industry.

Under the U.S. Green Building Council ("USGBC") and the Green Building Certification Institute's ("GBCI") new LEED 2009 credentialing system, for those interested in becoming LEED accredited after March 31st, 2009, successfully passing the new LEED Green Associate exam is the first step in the process of earning a LEED A.P. credential.

Taught by seasoned LEED A.P.s, Ed Cornejo and Christopher Taylor, both experienced instructors in LEED exam preparation and training, the 8-Hour Comprehensive Seminar will provide an overview of the LEED Green Associate curriculum and the specifications to help participants pass the LEED G.A. exam. In addition to the course instruction, attendees will receive a LEED Green Associate Study Guide and other valuable study tools, as well as a Certificate of Completion upon successfully finishing the course.

"The new LEED Green Associate credential represents not only a springboard for new careers in sustainability, but also it is a basic requirement for new LEED AP candidates. From talking with our customers, we see there is strong demand for an 8-hour seminar for LEED Green Associate," explained Jim Freeman, Director of Business Development for Green-Buildings.com. "The instructors don't just read the material back to you, but they put you on solid ground in all areas related to the Green Associate Exam as well as all the tips and tricks you need to pass. It's the perfect opportunity for green building professionals who are confident that they don't need a two day class."

Since the launch of the LEED accreditation system, more than 75,000 professionals have become LEED APs. Indeed, recent interest in the green building industry and the LEED AP credential has been so strong that, before the old LEED credentialing system was retired on March 31st, the GBCI's website crashed from all the would-be LEED APs registering to take the current exam.
